The rich history of sea salt production along the shores of Cape Cod goes as far back as the revolutionary war when British blockades prevented salt imports. Salt was critical for food storage to get by the long Cape Cod Winters. The traditional method of drying saltwater using sunlight is still used today in our greenhouses in Chatham. Sea water is collected from Nantucket sound daily to keep up with demand.
