Each year, 62 million tons of electronics waste ends up in landfills. FOTOFOTO up-cycles this would-be trash into delightful, "disposable" film cameras. Taking pictures on film is a breath of fresh air in our distracted digital lives. For casual photographers, the easiest way to enjoy the magic of film is with disposable cameras. Disposable cameras are incredibly wasteful, with 99% ending up in landfills after a single use. At FOTOFOTO, we re-designed the disposable camera to be as sustainable as it is delightful. Here's how it works: At our Brooklyn studio, we dismantle discarded disposable cameras, salvaging their working cores. To these cores, we add a tiny computer we designed which gives each camera advanced light-sensing technology which controls the flash The result? Perfectly lit photos everytime. We then secure the refurbished camera in our signature, grooved housing. Thus our FF-1 camera is born. When you buy an FF-1, you get access to our pay-later development service. When you're ready to get your photos developed, simply mail the camera back to us, film roll and all. We develop your photos and give you back scans, prints or both. We then carefully refurbish your camera, reload it with fresh film and send it back out into the world for its next adventure.
