The company “Oleificio Agnellaro di Terrasi Rosa” The story of the Oleificio Agnellaro, in Aragona, in the province of Agrigento, is a story made of sacrifices and a lot of passion that has its roots in 1954, when the founder Rosario bought about twenty hectares of land on the gentle Sicani hills of the territory of Aragona (AG). Over the years the original company expanded: the olive grove grew from 600 to 6000 plants, of the cultivated varieties of Passulunara, Nocellara, Biancolilla oil olives and, in 1991, it equipped itself with a modern oil mill a continuous cycle, completely renovated and expanded in 2000, equipped with an air-conditioned storage area and a bottling plant. Confident of the goodness of its product and the products of the neighboring territory, since 2003 the company has started marketing its extra virgin olive oil, bottled under the “Olio Principe” brand. The extra virgin olive oil “Olio Principe” is obtained by simply pressing fresh olives. The control over the quality of the oil begins in the field, from the moment of flowering to the harvest that takes place by hand in the veraison phase, between October and November. Within 24-48 hours of harvesting, the olives, kept in ventilated baskets, are pressed in the family oil mill and the oil is stored in steel silos, kept at a temperature of 18-20°.Read their story
