No one was more surprised by the creation of Laurel Elaine Jewelry than I was. Seriously, no one. From an early age, my passion has always been helping people. In 3rd grade, I volunteered with special needs youth. In my high school psychology class, I decided I would be a therapist. After college, I worked with at risk youth and put myself through graduate school until I finally earned a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. The mental health field can be hard and full of heartbreak. After a particularly difficult week in 2014, I wandered through a craft store and walked out with a handful of brightly colored beads. I was hooked. It wasn't long after that I started Laurel Elaine Jewelry. A few years later I found myself working as the director of a non profit organization working with some of the most high needs kids in the state of California when I had my first daughter. I only went back to work briefly before deciding that the place for me right now is home with her (and now her sister!), so I decided to take the leap and turn my side hustle into my fulltime gig. Almost 10 years and 5,000+ 5 star reviews later, I still I love building this business and seeing how my jewelry can bring joy and happiness into the lives of others.
