Meet Oma (Gail) & Popie (Jan) Zarr a company founded on a love of wings in Dive Bars and an interesting date night challenge. It all started with one of our first dates, early on Popie confessed his love of dive bars and chicken wings to Oma. So, the challenge was accepted, and she took him to the Oasis in Twin Falls ID for 25 cent wing nights. From there, we adventured across the States, looking for the best wings in bars of questionable reputations. During our travels, we chomped on hundreds of wings, as a matter of fact we would go out of our way to hit up these places. While tasty, we noticed that the only thing that differentiated the wings were the sauce names, other than that, they all tasted the same. This spawned yet another challenge that we could tackle together, create a marinade/sauce and spice blends that was better with unique flavors. Like, most small food makers, we tested our recipes out on family and friends at picnics, barbecues, tailgating parties and potlucks. We became known for our amazing flavor profiles and the idea of making this a business seemed like the next best challenge. We were next tasked with finding a strong brand name that was both familiar and unique. The solution came after a visit from our grandchildren who call Grandma Gail, Oma, and Grandpa Jan, Popie.
