Lolita was born in 1960 in Punta del Este, Uruguay, founded by the visionary Engelman sisters as a women’s fashion boutique that quickly became a symbol of aspiration and elegance. What began as a local store soon turned into a must-visit destination for luxury tourism. In 1978, the brand expanded to Montevideo, growing its presence and popularity. Through the decades, Lolita evolved with its customers, offering collections that reflect real women’s lives and desires. In 2002, amidst a regional economic crisis, the brand took a bold step forward. Under the leadership of Michel Cohen and Silvina Leibenberg, Lolita pioneered an international franchising model, taking its unique spirit to new markets and earning recognition across the business and academic worlds. Today, with over 60 years of history and more than two decades of international presence, Lolita proudly continues its legacy of quality, elegance, and innovation — always adapting to the changing world while staying true to its roots.
