I grew up in the 80s and always loved watching movies - I loved the small town adventures and the awesome high schools (I wanted to be Molly Ringwald!). I would always find myself going back to them on rainy Sunday afternoons, watching them over and over again. I met my now husband who is an 80s movie fanatic and he introduced me to even more great movies (mainly action and horror as my parents wouldn't really let me watch them!) - in our house 80s movies never went away, they are frozen in time. Their stories might revolve around a day off, a school year or a special summer but, to us, their charm is ageless. That's why we built Left of the Dial. Inspired by the movies that we loved and grew up with, we began designing prints for our own home. Friends who came over admired them - they reminisced about the movies they watched growing up but had forgotten, and some of them even blew the dust off their VHS collections in order to watch them again! We exhibit at various conventions and I love to see people browsing through our prints, excitedly saying 'I remember that!' and pointing them out to family and friends - the prints take people back in time and get them talking and reminiscing about their favourite movies made four decades ago - it's a great feeling!
