About Splendid Torch Studio
At Splendid Torch Studio, we’re all about connecting, laughing (sometimes crying), and noticing what makes us feel. Founded by Suzanne M. Brazil—a writer who decided midlife to pick up a pen and start sketching—this little studio began in September 2024 with a LAMY fountain pen, some watercolor, and the encouragement of family and a local community of makers. Suzanne once got a C+ in 7th-grade art and was rejected from choir the same year, so naturally, she thought creativity wasn’t for her. Fast forward a few decades (and a life-changing TED Talk), and now she’s hand-illustrating designs inspired by hiking trails, road trips in her SUV with her dog Dewey, and life’s crazy twists and turns. Every piece is loose, colorful, and imperfect, straight from Suzanne's imagination. Based in Eastern Tennessee and Wilmington, NC, Splendid Torch Studio creates art for people with a sense of humor and a belief in paying attention to the delights available in an ordinary day.
