Taking a leap of faith to start my own business was exciting and terrifying at the same time. Why did I do it? Born Deaf, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit with an attitude and approach to thinking that actively seeks out change, rather than waiting to adapt to change. My parents were told when I was a toddler that I would never graduate from school, hold a job, live on my own, etc. But neither my parents nor I were willing to accept that, and I have never looked back! As a deaf entrepreneur who spent my early career working with students with disabilities, providing employment opportunities for people who are deaf or and other differently abled people has always been one of my primary motivations. I worked in education for 20+ years, and that entire time I saw my deaf and disabled students struggling to find work or opportunities after graduation. When I started 4Legz, I wanted to change that reality. As a result, one of 4Legz core values is supporting the disability community. Through our connections in the local community, we provide deaf, neurodiverse, differently abled people, low income, and minorities with the experience they need to secure jobs. We also work with organizations that promote the health and well-being of animals, provide affordable veterinary services, and train and match service dogs with those who need them. Giving Back - For every product purchased, we’ll donate 10 meals to shelter and rescues dogs and cats.Read their story
