About Pop Zoo

Hi! I’m Syd and this is my art that you’re checking out. I don’t want this to be awkward, so allow me to introduce myself: Born in Alabama and raised in Western NY, I currently reside in Boston with my husband, our infant son and our two rescue chihuahuas. I often say that six-year-old me would be really proud of how I’ve turned out. When I was six, I wanted to be four things: an artist, a paleontologist, a veterinarian and a unicorn. Well, two out of four ain't bad if you ask me. You can probably guess which two won out, but here are some hints: I have a BFA in Painting and Art History from Cornell University and absolutely no background in science. Also, I have this weird bump in the middle of my forehead, but we don't have to discuss it. My paintings are latex enamel house paint on canvas, and my style is the result of allowing a professional control freak unfettered access to liquid-y paint and tiny brushes. I recommend applying my artwork liberally to drab walls, dark corners and anywhere else begging for a pop of color.Read their story
