About Chic Salone

Chic Salone was started by a brother sister team with rich Sierra Leone roots. We are direct descendants of one of Sierra Leone's national heroes. Val was born, raised and still lives in Sierra Leone. Mark was raised in Jamaica and connected with his Sierra Leone roots later in life. After seeing the response to the gifts he would bring back to his friends in the US, Mark decided to join forces with his sister to import the fashion his friends grew to love and make them available to everyone online. "Salone" is how most Sierra Leoneans call our beautiful country in West Africa. Our goal is to change the perception about the quality of fashion that comes out of Africa and "Chic" is one of the adjectives that we want associated with our "Stylish African Fashion." You're stylish, modern with a bold personality. You don't mind standing out from the rest. You like to hear "that looks great on you, where did you get that?" You like to say something exotic, like, "it's hand made in Sierra Leone". Or, you may just like our unique fashionable pieces that accentuate your more conservative wardrobe.
