When I first came over to France with Emmanuel my then fiancé, I was appalled by the piles of post-gift wrappers. Such a magical event to be tarnished by this ugly sight the day after. Something needed to be done! The solution seemed obvious. Growing up in Asia, the Furoshiki art of folding fabric had always being part of a silent habit. I remember my mum wrapping up lunch-box third parties in tea towels, and articles were kept in folded fabric. But are they not too white, too ethnic for my Parisian fellow friends? This day, I know that we have to try to convince everyone into a furoshiki 2.0. I created Gift as a movement to popularize this easy and responsible way to wrap gifts.
