About SRM Prints

Sarah Reed McNamara is a Printmaker based in Rockford, IL. For over a decade, she has been using the linoleum block printmaking technique to create nostalgic, whimsical and meaningful narratives. Using linocut and letterpress techniques, Sarah offers a range of small and large prints. Enamel pins feature her linocut designs and all their intricacies. Sarah studied Art History, History and Printmaking at Rockford University in Rockford, IL where she received a Bachelors in Arts. Having shown her work extensively through the Midwest, it culminated in 2017 with the exhibition Bittersweet Observations at Rockford Art Museum in Rockford IL - an exhibit featuring her large scale animal linocut prints, displayed in a large scale children’s fort, built within the museum gallery. The exhibit featured 20+ unique linoleum block prints of Sarah’s imagination. Sarah continues her linocut and letterpress practice in Rockford and continues to show in the Midwest. She owns a storefront in downtown Rockford, GEM: Gather, Engage, Make that features the artisan work of 20+ Midwest women makers. She is also a member of the Speedball Arts Professional Artist Network and a member of People of Print. Sarah has taught numerous community courses in textile printing and continues her printmaking studies, independently. Read their story
