My name is Pooja Choudhary. Our love and passion for making Indian art and designs available to the rest of the world began back in 2014 when I met my husband and business partner while on a meagre job in Delhi. The idea clicked when we both shared the same vision. With a handful of our savings and negligible capital, our journey from Aakriti began. I'm from Jaipur, which is known for its colours and unique craftsmanship. We travelled to see hundreds of artisans and visited dozens of villages and counties across India on roads, ox carts, buses, local transportation and even mortgaged our home to start our dream project. We had a lot of breakdowns, but with Grit to build a brand called “Aakriti” which translates to “Form” in English. We are now exporting to more than 40 countries with multiple categories. Macramé designs are an integral part of our range of wall hangings, plant hangers, jewellery, purses and even garments made from simple materials such as cotton thread, jute, hemp or yarn.
