About Boil and Broth

I'm Rachel Down, the Founder & MD of Boil and Broth. I started Boil and Broth back in 2018 after I managed to transform my health by drinking broth and kefir water. I developed Candida overgrowth and leaky gut syndrome but was unable to find support from my GP. Frustrated, I decided to research my symptoms and discovered gut health. My broth journey began at home with me making and drinking it daily. I also made kefir water and followed a low carb diet. Within 12 weeks I lost 2 1/2 stone and in 2 years I lost 6 stone. I naturally went into business making broths for friends, family and then real customers. As I began to grow the business, people contacted me frequently asking if our broths are suitable for dogs. As we have never added any other ingredients into our broths, they are perfect for dogs. At this point, I decided to get a pet food license and we became the first broth company in the UK to hold a dual license to produce broth for humans and for dogs. In recent times, it has become harder to ship perishable goods, particularly overseas. In light of this, I decided to innovate the broth to make it a non-perishable product. Not wanting to alter the products nutrition, I discovered that dehydrating is the best and most gentle way to preserve the broth. Once we launched this product it went viral.
