About Red Moon Weaving

Red Moon Weaving was created to increase economic opportunity for women in Mexico City who were once victims of sex trafficking. Our products are made by these women and several artisans throughout the region. By bringing these handwoven crafts to the Western marketplace, we can help expand their ability to create sustainable income and widen the gap between our rescued women and the streets. It is estimated that 57% of the population of Mexico is at risk of being trafficked due to situations of vulnerability. Mexico City has the largest red-light district in Latin America, with an estimated 5,000 girls working on an average day. Red Moon Weaving aims to combat this issue through increasing economic opportunities in this area. Read their story
