About KAIA

KAÏA is a premium, independent, female-founded, family-led, organic olive oil brand rooted in community, culture and sustainability. KAÏA is the first Tunisian olive oil to be sold at La Grande Epicerie in Paris and Selfridge's in London, to name but a few. Our mission is to highlight the beauty of Tunisian olive oil, bring more representation to its terroir and celebrate the culture behind it. We've been featured in Le Monde, Condé Nast Traveller, Afar, Semaine, Brut, and more. Sarah, the founder, makes KAÏA from heirloom Chemlali olives carefully hand-picked from centennial trees her family has been cultivating for five generations. There are more than 50 women on the family groves during the harvest, using knowledge and skills handed down from generation to generation. Sarah supervises the whole process: picking, grading, cold-pressing, bottling and distributing. The result: a lovingly-made and totally traceable olive oil with subtle variations in flavour every year, reflecting its seasonal nature. Like every summer, Sarah travelled to Tunisia after the first Covid lockdown. What was meant to be a 3-week holiday ended up being a 6-month reconnection with the place she now calls home. KAÏA is a tribute to the things that she cherishes the most : her childhood memories of summer in Tunisia, the legacy she inherits from her family and the Mediterranean. Read their story
