Michelle Hammond is the founder of Ruahh. She doesn't come from an entrepreneurial background, however ever since she was a child in Ghana, she always dreamt of starting a company making something functional and symbolic she would wear. At a young age, she would make clothes for dolls and sell them to friends. Though she thought nothing of it over the years growing up, it stirred up a passion of starting or owning a company someday that will allow her to share her culture as well as provide functionality and style to women. Fast forward to the Fall of 2020, as a mother of two in dire need for a versatile bag that could effortlessly double as a diaper and casual bag, she searched but found nothing she was satisfied with. Her findings were either too expensive, not stylish enough or without an acceptable quality. That was when Ruahh was born. The Ruahh Ayele Bag became the first item of the Ruahh brand focused on versatility, style, and functionality. Michelle created a bag that didn’t sacrifice style, quality or functionality for the modern woman and her adventures. These pillars (functionality, symbolism, culture, and style) have since become the drive behind Ruahh and since its inception, vibrant jewelry that are symbolic yet add a beautiful statement to any outfit have been added to the brand.
