Understanding the responsibility we have to our environment and how the garment is made, to the people we work with and those who purchase and care for the garments. Genia's home studio is where the magic happens. From design concepts to pattern and prototype development to samples. The majority of orders are done by Genia in-house, hiring local seamstresses for wholesale orders. Sourcing deadstock fabrics from Montreal wholesalers, meaning she selects end of roll and surplus fabrics giving them new life. This offers customers unique garments in limited colours and prints. When sourcing new materials, Genia looks for certified organic fabrics with natural fibers. In order to minimize fabric waste and limit overstock inventory, garments are made-to-order or produced in small batches for retailers. The best part about being a small business is the flexibility to work with clients on custom sizing to ensure all women feel comfortable and confident.
