Bra sizing was invented in the 1930s, using a series of numbers and letters to better customize fit to women’s bodies – a great progression in bras at the time! However, not only has bra construction and materials changed since then, but women’s bodies have also changed and become more diversified. The same set of numbers and letters does not work for the majority of women, but most brands still carry only the same sizes that were available almost 100 years ago! Although some brands have done great work to expand their size ranges, none have focused on high quality lingerie AND extensive sizing.
