We began with a question, not a business plan. While flipping through her family’s handwritten recipe book, Maranda discovered a skin cream passed down from her great-great grandmother in Sicily. At the time, she and her husband Michael were searching for a gentler way to support highly reactive skin—something that worked with the body rather than overwhelming it. That curiosity led to two years of hands-on formulation and testing. Cold-pressed hemp seed oil stood out for its exceptional skin compatibility, while mineral water from a Montana hot spring—known for its unusually high mineral contact—added a restorative quality they couldn’t replicate elsewhere. What began at local farmers markets quickly grew through word of mouth. Over time, the brand gained national recognition and has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, People, Refinery29, Rolling Stone, and more. Its original cream was also adopted by hospital care teams as a non-steroidal skin support option in a NICU setting, reinforcing the importance of barrier-focused, minimalist formulations. Today, nearly 15 years later, The Good Stuff Botanicals is handcrafted in small batches in our cabin on the hill in Bigfork, Montana.
