She used a foolproof method of ripening avocados by placing them in wool ski socks in a warm, dry place. The avocados ripened quickly and evenly, yielding a perfectly ripe avocado, every single time. She retired the ski socks to create the custom, all wool, all environmentally friendly, all Canadian made Avocado Sock to enable everyone to enjoy a perfectly ripe avocado whenever they need it. She then took the concept one step further to create the The Fruit Buddy, "Fresh Fruit in a Teddy Bear Suit" that protects delicate fruit in transport and helps to ripen unripe fruit.
