Old Mother Goose was born from a quiet wish to bring forgotten winter traditions back into the home. Long before plastic decorations and factory-made ornaments, Christmas was prepared slowly and by hand. Feathers were gathered, wood was carved, and small objects made around the table became part of the season’s story. These traditional crafts were made to be used, passed down, and brought out year after year. Old Mother Goose draws inspiration from those traditions. Each goose feather tree is assembled feather by feather, echoing the delicate tabletop trees once made in Central Europe when forests were protected and people crafted their own home decor. Our wooden cookie moulds and boxes are carved in the same spirit- simple honest objects meant for baking, gifting and celebrating. As the workshop has grown, the craft has slowly expanded beyond the winter season, embracing pieces that bring the same sense of heritage and handmade warmth to the home throughout the year.
