Throughout all stages and processes of the business, we ensure we're keeping a low carbon footprint, using biodegradable and recyclable packaging, working with partners with fair wages, and giving back to the planet and it's people. For every mat sold, we donate five pounds to Friends of the Earth, an environmental grassroots organisation helping to restore the planet to health, and campaigns to push legislative changes in order to do so. When it comes to our vegan mats, they're made entirely from natural tree rubber, using the latex that comes from the Para Rubber Tree. Natural rubber is an ecologically sustainable crop that actually contributes to the maintenance of the global carbon balance in the atmosphere. The oozy latex material extracted from the trees is strained, diluted with water, treated, and rolled into yoga mats using water-based dyes. Using sustainable farming, these non-Amazonian trees are only partially tapped by a small incision on the tree’s outer surface, which is used for a period of time, and then allowed to heal naturally. Unlike PVC yoga mats or rubber-top mats which contain nasty chemicals, our mats are natural, recyclable and biodegradable and feature a patterned vegan-suede top. They’re soft and supportive and come in a variety ot thicknesses and patterns.Read their story
