About Gillian Jones Designs

Gillian's background lies in the world of engineering, where she earned her BEng and later pursued a PhD in manufacturing engineering. Throughout her career, she had the privilege of working with organisations such as Cyanamid, Rolls-Royce Aerospace, and IBM UK Laboratories. Her journey took an unexpected but fulfilling turn when she decided to leave the corporate world and join the Royal Navy as an Engineering & Training Management Officer in the Royal Navy, an experience she fondly recalls. Following a career break to raise her two sons, Gillian initially aspired to become a secondary school teacher. However, life had other plans, and unforeseen health challenges led her down a different path. Gillian has always had a fondness for art, a passion that dates back to her teenage years when she enjoyed painting watercolors of military uniforms. Drawing from her engineering background, she ventured into the world of artistic expression, eventually founding Gillian Jones Designs. Read their story
