Hi! We’re Nathan and Ashan, the duo behind Sumo Spice. Our love for bold food grew through living and traveling across Asia, where the best meals were never just about eating. They were about energy, connection, late-night markets, tiny restaurants, shared plates, and flavors that made simple food unforgettable. We loved the magic of chili crisp: the rich oil, the crispy aromatics, the heat, the crunch, the way one spoonful could transform a meal. But when we started looking closer at many chili crisps on the shelf, we saw ingredients we did not love: seed oils, added sugar, high sodium, and unnecessary additives. So we made our own. Sumo Spice is built around a simple idea: better ingredients should still taste wildly good. Every jar is made with avocado oil instead of seed oils. We skip added sugar and added salt. We left out soy and MSG. And we build flavor around vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO ingredients like chilies, garlic, sesame, spices, aromatics, and crunchy texture.
