About Nursphere Original Dome Bandages

Origin Story The concept was born when an engineer Hal Alraheem suffered a burn wound while baking his father’s favorite chocolate cookies for his children. The Prototype: Frustrated by traditional tape and gauze—which he felt disrupted the healing process—he initially used a pair of goggles to enclose and protect the wound without touching the skin. The Discovery: He observed that because the goggles did not disturb the wound surface, it healed faster and more naturally than it would have under a standard adhesive bandage. Key Product Features (2026) As of 2026, the Nursphere brand has expanded into a line of "non-contact" medical products that focus on maintaining a protected healing environment: Non-Contact Design: Unlike traditional bandages invented by Earle Dickson in 1921 (which use gauze pads that sit directly on the wound), Nursphere uses a clear, hard-shell plastic dome. Wound Tracker™ App: Modern versions (available in 2025–2026) are paired with an AI-powered app that allows users to photograph and monitor the healing timeline through the transparent dome. Specialized Variants: Outdoors UV Protection: A version designed to block UV rays while still providing ventilation for active users. Double Wall & Finger AIR: Specifically shaped domes for digits and high-movement areas. Sustainability: The domes are designed to be reusable and recyclable, standing in contrast to single-use disposable bandages.
