To begin, a Water Bearer is one who carries a vessel — a container that holds something meant to be shared. It is a sacred act of offering, a reminder that what we hold is not only for ourselves, but for the collective. At The Water Bearer Press, we publish from this place of ceremony — each project an invocation, each release an offering poured with intention. We believe in publishing as a living ritual, where art becomes a form of truth-telling, remembrance, and liberation. Our guiding principles flow through three streams: Innovation — seeing publishing as a ceremonial act, not just production. Liberation — freeing the art we carry so that it may reach the hands, hearts, and spirits it’s meant for. Truth — establishing our centre through honesty, transparency, and the courage to tell stories that matter.
