“My love affair with wool is never-ending." "It started as an intriguing friendship when, at university, I was first introduced to its magic. As often happens, the friendship developed into a tentative romance, as the delicious possibilities of weaving and textile design were laid out before me. After university, during my time as textile designer with a well – established company, this fledgling love took flight. Breathless, I realised that I was in the throes of an enduring passion.” With extensive experience in the textile industry Jurate (“Jacky”) Jakstaite has been designing and selling her own products in the UK and overseas since 2012. Each year she draws inspiration from her new-found home environment of Great Britain as well as from her experiences working for other well-established, overseas textile companies to create fresh, fun additions to her collection. Jurate has a longstanding relationship with trusted manufacturers in her native Lithuania who carefully and skillfully bring her designs to life in either pure wool or blends of wool and cotton. New relationships with UK manufacturers are also beginning to take flight.
