Located in Patton, Missouri, Ortmann Woodcraft is our family owned business started in 2013 that sells hand-crafted wood products. Starting as an apprentice in 2006, I began to learn the fundamentals of woodworking by being an assistant in a cabinet shop. I continued working until 2010, when I attended college and chose a different career path. Unknowingly, in 2012 I began woodworking as a hobby, that quickly became a passion and by 2013 we had started a business. My wife and I started attending 25+- craft , art , juried shows, and farmers markets a year. In 2017, we were discovered at a farmers market and were asked to provide handmade pens and letter openers for the 2017 inauguration. This accelerated the growth of our business and in the spring of 2017 we moved to our new location and expanded the shop. Through the organic growth of our business, we are (what I consider) “middle level manufacturing”. This is because the customer deals with the owners directly, able to handle large hand made orders while maintaining a high quality, at a competitive price. Weather the order is for 1 pen or 1,000 pens, the attention to detail never waivers.
