Welcome to 1965! What make 1965 special isn't each pieces uniqueness but the combination of handcrafted yarns, Scandinavian soul and California ease. We are a lady owned operation and our pieces are all made by hand and made to order. With beautiful yarns from Italy and small batch American yarn makers. This is a somewhat different business model. We have the capability to make adjustments to our pieces. So we can help cater to your customers. If you love a sweater but know that your people will not buy anything with Neon Pink, we can change it. If you like a color-way but want it in a crew instead of a V-neck we can do that. If you need larger or smaller sizing, we can do that. A little about me... My name is Anna and I am a sweater designer with 30 years of experience in knitwear. I have mainly only had my own brands (Lily Mcneal, Dear Pruitt, Beau and Marigold) but also designed sweaters for other brands. I grew up in Copenhagen Denmark where I learned to knit as a young girl. It became a passion that never left me. I started 1965 in 2019 after making pieces for myself and for friends in Hollywood. It soon started rolling organically as their friends would ask "where did you that sweater?" It was a new experience to create pieces when they were asked for instead of producing products and hoping they would sell. Made to order. Nothing wasted. Read their story
