Hello and welcome from Melanie, the artist behind Gilded Iris Designs! While I'm currently based in friendly Wisconsin, my mobile childhood showed me that every culture cultivates a variety of people who are absolute gems, both in their strengths and their relatable fallenness. I design my journals to help celebrate the unique preferences and personality of people like me who have a fascination with paper. What is the allure of a journal? As an introvert, I rely on pen and paper to slow down the process of communication and help me intentionally choose the words I use to reshape how I process my faith and my reality. My battles with mental illness have emphasized the importance of self-care, and so journals – especially guided journals – hold a special place in my heart and provide an outlet for my creativity and thoughtfulness, imagining all the ways certain journal prompts can shape the way people examine the worlds around them and within them, and also celebrating how a beautifully designed journal cover can convey a strong first impression of what captures a person's heart.
