Stephen moved to Provincetown in 2015 after living and working in NYC for 26 years. While in New York Stephen worked in the fashion business as a designer and worked for companies like DKNY, Banana Republic and A/X Armani Exchange. Stephen and his husband bought a Guesthouse and Spa in Provincetown in 2015. After finishing renovations at the Guesthouse, Stephen started working on items to sell in a gift shop they created in the Spa. Hence Helltown Provincetown was born. So why Helltown? This was a nickname given to town in the 18th and 19th centuries by the Puritans living in town to describe some areas that were considered hellish, due to the drinking, carousing, and misbehavior of the area. Part of the journey also had to do with memories of a past vacation in Sonoma, CA. While visiting a gift store there was a back wall full of different candle brands. He found it all looked similar: beige and not colorful! There was no joy! So when he started working on the packaging he wanted to make sure there was color and pattern, as well as amazing smelling scents picked for the whole experience. Brighten your senses with Helltown Provincetown, and experience why his customers keep coming. back for more.
