We have adopted a slow fashion approach, so we are careful to design items which are timeless. During the design and manufacture processes we place considerable focus on construction, ensuring our pieces items will last a long time, in direct contrast to cheaply, mass produced lifestyle accessories that are thrown away after a single season. Whistler Tree takes its name from the oldest, and most productive cork tree in Portugal- 'The Whistler Tree', which is so named because of the vast numbers of birds that nest in the trees dense canopy. Grade A Portuguese Cork is our current material of choice for our collections. Cork is water resistant, highly durable and can be manipulated into a range of shapes and styles. It is in fact so durable that is has been called 'Cork Leather', because the applications of the materials are the same as those for animal leather products. Read their story
