About Jillian Ailsa
I'm a Toronto-based illustrator, inspired by book ornamentation, folk art and iconography. My work is a playful take on classic themes - in particular anything dealing with magic and nature. I love to integrate symbols, symmetry and texture. I work in watercolour, pencil crayon, paper collage and digitally. I mostly work with publishers and clients - but every year I make holiday cards. More recently, I've started making stationary for other occasions too. Increasingly, this has become a very witchy endeavour. Everything is designed by me, and printed locally.
