About Le Tre Castagne dell'Etna

It is in the town of Trecastagni, on the slopes of the highest active volcano in Europe, "u Mungibeddu," that the artisanal company "Le Tre Castagne dell’Etna S.r.l." was founded in 2018. Our success is the result of the diligent work of Grandpa Alfio who, during World War II, patiently awaited the pruning season to supply wood to the town's bakers. Today, the third generation faithfully follows in his footsteps, remembering when he, at only seven years old, would go to the chestnut grove on the back of a donkey. Over the years, the most challenging task has been to transform the need for wood into fruit. Today, our production is mainly focused on the Etna chestnut, extending to a wide range of agri-food products. Savory pestos, ready-made sauces, spreads, jams, and marmalades convey the scents and freshness of the fruits of our land. Those who choose us can, therefore, savor the products of Etna's Sicily, carefully packaged in jars that encapsulate our passion for artisanal work and the meticulous selection of raw materials. We also pride ourselves on particular attention to the processing method, carried out with a direct concentration system aimed at using all the sugars naturally present in the fruit.Read their story
