About Emily Ward Art

Art with a splash of colour. In 1995, with my BA(hons) in Art and Design from Ulster University, I was commissioned as a community artist to paint non-political murals with the people of Belfast. After 5 years I returned to my roots in Newcastle Upon Tyne and worked empowering and teaching art to disadvantage groups. Then a door slammed shut.... but a window flew open. Following my breast cancer diagnosis in 2010, I returned to painting to help me focus on my recovery. It was a long recovery and, with three young children, my rediscovered passion for painting helped me overcome my fears and anxieties and inspired my future. I started painting landscapes for friends and family and, with my first commission, Emily Ward Art was born. My range continues to expand. My products are now stocked across the North East of England and are being delivered further afield and my promise is to bring you a 'little splash of colour' in everything I paint. Now with the help of the family 'firm' - my three (much bigger) kids, and a growing team - I am ready to expand nationwide. I choose to produce my range in the UK, using environmentally sound materials and supporting local companies. I also support local and national charities in a variety of ways - with my time, talent and my colourful style. Read their story
