About Blue Root Soaps

Blue Root Soaps was created out a want to create products that feel good on our skin, nourish rather than deplete our bodies and take into account the Earth consciousness we live daily. The beginning: My sister came home from a trip to Pendleton, OR, having learned how to make soap from her Mother-in-Law. She was so excited to share her new skill with me & so it began! She & I started getting together twice a year to make soap for our families. Our soaps were uncolored & minimally scented, turning out as brown squares. Despite their lack-luster aesthetic, we knew we were providing our families with natural soaps that would nourish our bodies. Fast forward about 15 years. A friend approached me about making a custom loaf for her to gift for the holidays. I agreed and started researching added color and design. It was then that Blue Root Soaps was born. I quickly learned there was a whole art component of soap making I hadn't known before. What a fun and exciting piece to a product I already loved making. I was unstoppable! We make our products as natural as possible, while being stewards to the land we call home. We want our products to make you feel nourished & full. We consider our soaps works of art that function as everyday use soaps. We use only botanical matter to color our soaps & seek to use either all Essential oil blends, or Phthalate free fragrances to enhance the essential oils. Our packaging is 100% recyclable/reusable and that means the world to us!Read their story
