The owner of Minnie and Moon, Emma Kelly, named the company after her grandmothers. Minnie ran the family hardware store in San Francisco, it is through that side of the family Emma started visiting factories at an early age to see how good quality tools were produced, learning the difference between items that look nice and those that really last. Moon (a nickname for Margaret) was the descendant of Danish homesteaders who landed on the California coast. She passed down the practical skills of gardening, cooking, and creating a warm and cozy home, as well as imparting a resourceful and waste-free mindset. Their influences are what inspire the products we sell. Besides selling well made, functional products, Minnie and Moon is committed to uplifting other small businesses and supporting women in our community.
