Founded in 2002, Monsieur Pamplemousse is a Chicago-based jewelry studio creating handcrafted pieces rooted in color, culture, and architectural design. Each collection reflects a thoughtful balance of artistry and wearability—designed for boutiques seeking distinctive, story-driven jewelry that resonates with clients drawn to individuality and craft. Though both of Alex’s biological parents are Mexican by nationality, their lineages reflect Latin America’s rich diversity: a mother of Afro-Indigenous heritage and a biological father of Filipino, Spanish, and Indigenous roots. He was raised by his father from Ecuador, whose influence added another layer of cultural richness and perspective to his upbringing. This layered heritage informs his belief that identity is complex, personal, and beautifully multifaceted. Based in Chicago, Alex’s work is deeply influenced by the city’s architectural legacy, blending structure and movement with global references. A multilingual, multidisciplinary artist, he draws from architecture, dance, history, and travel to shape his creative language. Today, Rio de Janeiro serves as his second home and creative refuge, inspiring the rhythm, warmth, and tropical boldness found throughout his work. Each piece is handcrafted in small batches using mixed metals, architectural lines, asymmetry, and vibrant gemstones sourced from around the world.
