Cardon's story begins in South Korea, the world’s skincare powerhouse, and two women passionate about starting an open conversation about men’s self-care. Our founder, Narae, hails from South Korea, and spent over a decade working in the men’s grooming and skincare industries, specializing in bringing the best ingredients and most innovative formulas to men across Asia. Narae decided to come to the United States to attend Wharton Business School. There, she met her roommate Jacqueline (the second half of the Cardon puzzle), an expert in the retail startup space. The two hosted consumer focus groups at their apartment and they were amazed at how open their male classmates were about their interest and insecurities around skincare. This inspired them to create their own men's personal care brand, Cardon, to not only fill a gap in the men’s personal care market, but to also use skincare as a platform to reshape the narrative around men’s self-care. Cardon’s mission was clear from the beginning: to provide a simple shopping experience for men to get premium skincare at an approachable price tag while acting as an oasis in the desert; a go-to resource for honest, accurate information about men’s self-care. Cardon products are infused with cactus extract to soothe skin irritation from shaving and are backed with advanced Korean skincare research.
