Chartered Accountant to Collage Artist I knew what I loved from a young age—but in my family, I wasn’t free to choose it. After a decade in finance, carrying generations of hopes in a foreign country, my heart still held onto art. In 2022, I took the leap. Now, I’m proud to be an award-winning artist. If we all deserve second chances, why not discarded images? That’s how I fell in love with analog collage. How it started: I grew up obsessed with 🌙 Sailor Moon, Studio Ghibli, and characters I still connect with. But nerdy art that didn’t look like a dorm poster? So hard to find—too pink, too childish, too loud. In 2018, I picked up scissors and an X-Acto knife and began creating with scraps: flyers, calendars, torn posters. Hand-cut collage became my voice. I spent countless hours developing a style that makes your childhood memories feel grown-up. The kind of art where the more you look, the more you see. When art became therapy: Diagnosed with depressive symptoms, I turned to collage for comfort—cutting, shaping, grounding myself in stories I loved. Around the same time, I became obsessed with life quotes—the ones that hit. That’s what I bring together in my work: meaning + nostalgia. Since leaving corporate life, my art’s been seen by Toronto’s Mayor, featured on TV, podcasts, and more. But my goal stays the same: To help you reconnect with what shaped you—and turn it into art that sparks joy and fits beautifully in your space. 💖Read their story
