"Sustain & Heal" is a Miracle of Materials. I started my letterpress business "De Milo Design" in 1998 and after 10 years printing on domestically sourced paper it was time to look for a new kind of beautiful. I found a group of fair trade certified women in Bangladesh who work hard handmaking paper of locally sourced jute fiber. We work together to imagine colors and they create the beautiful marbling. Buying Sustain & Heal paper supports women who are heads of their households and makes it possible for them to provide for their families in rural Bangladesh. This, I believe, is the miracle of materials! Fun fact: President and Mrs. Obama used the Brick Red #24 Sustain & Heal marble paper for their invitation to the US-Africa Leaders Summit in August 2014.
