A graduate of F.I.T. in Fashion Illustration, Karen launched the Italian leather line three years ago—and hasn’t looked back. As a working woman and mom, Karen envisioned Bolsa Nova as a brand that combines high quality, timeless style, and practicality. Each handbag is a testament to this vision, blending Italian craftsmanship with American functionality. Made in small batches in Florence, Italy, our washed Italian leather collection boasts a rich, antiqued patina and a luxuriously soft, lived-in feel—achieved through a meticulous washing process. The name Bolsa Nova means “new bag” in Portuguese, symbolizing fresh beginnings and timeless elegance. Based in Long Island, NY, we are a small but globally connected company, collaborating with photographers, consultants, and artisans from around the world. As a mom, wife, daughter, and business owner, Karen is committed to giving back, supporting women in need through various charitable organizations throughout the year.
