In 2008 global trend-spotter Tim Talley was inspired by a pair of colorful sneakers he saw in a shop window in Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan. For years Tim had been paid by employers to trend-spot around the globe and then design lines of apparel and accessories for them based on his inspiration. This time Tim was trend-spotting for himself. The inspiration of the sneakers laced in 6 colors at once drove Tim to create the worlds first-ever, and dual-patented modular-no-tie laces. uLace is uniquely made from true-woven yarn-dyed polyester and specially calibrated "laced-feel' lycra.
