About Bar De Jar

Ilana was raised in a middle-class family in Jerusalem, Israel, where she was one of seven siblings. Moving to NY at the age of 23 to pursue her own dreams, Ilana quickly became caught up in the hustle and bustle of the big city and graduated from the historic Peter Kump Cooking School (now the Institute of Culinary Education), receiving a diploma from their renowned School of Pastry & Baking Arts in 1998. Since then, with her wide array of culinary skills, has worked as a caterer for private events and parties and seasonal markets, including the most recent Full Moon Fest; a 6,000 person music festival in the heart of Williamsburg, selling out of her handmade ice cream sandwiches.Read their story
