About Prairie Sweater Co

Prairie Sweater Co is a small batch clothing brand based in rural Alberta, Canada. It was started in 2014 by Tabetha Hystad, because she saw a need for high quality clothing made from sustainable fibres. Tabetha loves sharing her passion for slow fashion with other moms, showing them how to build their wardrobes with versatile and ethically made garments. All Prairie Sweater Co garments are made from sustainable fabrics - you won't find any polyester here! Favourite fibres include cotton, rayon from bamboo, lyocell, and hemp; Many items have a touch of spandex to ensure a long lasting fit. Garment manufacturing is done right here in Alberta in Tabetha's home sewing studio, or in the home of her contracted seamstress. Each garment is thoughtfully designed to be long lasting, versatile, and can comfortably be worn through many stages of a woman's life - from maternity to motherhood and beyond.
