About Petits Mots

I started Petits Mots in 2011 alongside my architectural practice, and the company has continued to grow bit by bit every year since. I have always loved to draw and watercolor, and this was a natural extension of what I was already doing. Clients would ask for the sketches of their homes, and I began giving them as gifts or producing notecards of their homes, gardens, etc. I am inspired by objects around me, from my youth, and from my collection of vintage tools and toys and utensils. I am a passionate cook and cyclist and love drawing some of what goes into the soup, or what sits in the fruit bowl on the table. For our housewares, the hand drawn image is scanned on the computer and then silkscreened by hand onto linen or organic cotton fabric, then sewn here in Montreal. Our notecards and prints follow much of the same procedure, though are printed locally on recycled papers. Read their story
