About Indira Jewelry

Marwa Saadawi, began an apprenticeship in the Khalil production house located in Cairo in 2015. During this time she rediscovered an old tradition of designing jewelry that is unique, long-lasting and functional that could be passed down for generations. Sustainability and zero waste are essential at Indira jewelry. Indira's brand and overall production process contains a number of earthy elements with a focus on minimal waste. We use a high grade of silver and gold, containing no nickel or brass, along with stones and shells in their raw form from the ground. In our production, no material, such as mother of pearl, or silver goes to waste, as we remelt and remold every part to be used. The packaging and all that supports the branding of Indira has been thoughtfully created to promote a reusable approach. Indira's packaging is made out of renewable wood and a biodegradable suede pouch. Wood, is the most environmentally- friendly raw material at our disposal, and for these reasons the Indira team has chosen wood as part of Indira’s packaging to continue to build a more earth friendly society. Marwa is aware of it's current limitations and is continuously working diligently to create a healthy ecosystem. Read their story
