The essential oil is considered less irritating than that of other thymes and is widely used in aromatherapy to combat asthma and other respiratory problems, especially in children. The leaves can be used fresh or dried and the small branches whole, when fresh. It gives a great infusion, little used in our country, but when discovered, it becomes mandatory.
